•    What does IKANED stands for?

IKANED stands for Indonesian Netherlands Alumni Organization, it is a non profit organization for and by all Indonesian (included family members) who lived, studied or engaged in academic research in the Netherlands.
IKANED is the sole official Dutch alumni in Indonesia; it is funded partly by contribution from Dutch higher education and business communities and companies. IKANED not only acts as a platform to improve the communication between alumni and their host institutions but also serves as a matchmaker to facilitate the business communities for talent scouting and recruitment among the highly trained alumni.

•    How do I register as IKANED member?
To register as one of our members, please go to the Sign Up button at the homepage. We ask you to fill out some basic information (considered compulsory to be able to register you as a member), such as name, mail address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, study program, etc. after submitting the Registration Form, you will receive an email notification informing you whether your membership registration is proved or not. After you have become a IKANED registered pre-alumni* or alumni**, you will be able to log in as a member for the special IKANED alumni services.

*those who are still studying in the Netherlands, or graduates working in the Netherlands.
** those have studied and/or graduated from Dutch higher education, and currently residing in Indonesia.

•    What kind of services could I get from IKANED
Being an IKANED member will give you advantages of making use of our services to get in touch with your friends, find a career opportunity and extend your network. You could easily use IKANED Alumni Directory, receiving IKANED newsletter, find a new challenges in your professional work, and setting up your own Alumni Chapter. Besides, you will be invited to special alumni events, such as receptions, alumni dinners, seminars, network events and workshops. What is more, you can suggest alumni events upon topics of your most interest, once it’s proved by IKANED board, you will received material as well as financial support for such events. How to do that? Simply send your proposal either in doc or in PDF to IKANED alumni officer.

•    Do I have to pay for IKANED membership?
No, being a member of the IKANED is completely free-of-charge! We only ask you to register yourself by filling out some information on the online Registration Form and submit this to us. However, to ensure membership effectiveness, there can be a membership information checking period, which can last one or two days. You will receive an email confirmation for the registration.

•    How does IKANED deal with my personal information?
IKANED is committed to protecting your privacy as a network member. By filling out the online Registration Form, you decide which personal details will be disclosed in the Alumni Directory. In order to guarantee your privacy, only basic information (such as name and e-mail address) can be viewed by other alumni and your former host-institution. IKANED Secretariat is the only party who will be able to view all data you have submitted, but will not sell, rent or lease your name and/or personal information to third parties.

•    How could I get in touch with other alumni from my former Dutch host-institution?
By logging in the online Alumni Directory, you will be able to search the people you are looking for, in order for pleasure or business.
If you, for example, are looking for old friends, for all alumni who studied the same program as you at the same institution, or for alumni who are currently living in the same city as you, you can find their names and study background by using that specific category as search entry. However, to prevent alumni details from being misused, we will provide email address, and not provide any direct contact information online.

•    Could I play a more active role as an alumni member?
Yes, the IKANED is always looking for passionate alumni members. IKANED is an volunteers organization based, thus we searching an alumni members who would like to organize events and serve as intermediaries between IKANED, the Dutch institutions, and other alumni members in Indonesia.
