The Indonesian Ministry of National Education (MoNE), in particular the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI), has several scholarship and grant schemes in place as part of the effort to increase the capacity of lecturers at state and private universities in Indonesia. The funding provides for degree studies abroad (MA and PhD), Post-docs, and joint research.
Nuffic Neso Indonesia has published information on these funding schemes on the website. We would like to particularly draw your attention to the new funding scheme that will provide for 50 PhD’s annually on a co-sharing basis for Dutch Institutions. In this scheme, DIKTI will finance 3 years of PhD research in the Netherlands if the candidate is nominated by a Dutch professor (no additional selection requirements by DIKTI) and if the Dutch university is willing to finance the final year.
Also a grant program for joint research that should lead to more international academic publications has been launched, for which a substantial budget has been reserved for Dutch-Indonesian proposals.
Other new funding schemes (also from other ministries) will be published soon on the website, so please check the following link regularly: www.nesoindonesia.or.id/grants
